Es ist nicht alles falsch, was man nicht versteht.
During last few days, there is some very small progress in my " building"
Grot mast still not completed...due to spesific galleon rigging, first need to arrange mizzen stay at least, than I will be able to manage completion main topgallant sail rigging - it's tie and halliard, which need to be attached to the mizzen stay...and continue with mizzen mast rigging..
there was wrong positioning of kit's mizzen halliard knight- it must be placed in front of mizzen mast, but not at the mizzen mast sbs as kit maker suggested
this was corrected...new knight fabricated from telephone plastic cards...and placed at the corrrct position...than there were some more small rearangements which I did before mizzen mast installation - added imitation of wooden plate with ring bolt for mizzen tack, made upper mizzen tie halliard block with ness-ry rigging
Hello Daniel, those telehpone card ...:), sometimes very handy ,for making some small / fast items... had idea to buy special evergreen plastic ... but still remains as idea... This vacation I had Great plan to complete both mizzen masts ...but...seems to me,if only half of mizzen mast and entire main mast completion could be done,it would be nice for me... Dear friends, Thanks for your attention to my slowly building :)))
There is question I have -and I will be very apriciable if somebody tell me how to secure mizzen tie in correct position at mizzen spar/ yard? Should there be securing plank / cleats same type/ or similar to those we could see on the main or fore sails spars which hold the ties and the parrel-ropes in place? or there is nothing need to be installed ? Logicaly there should be something / kind of stopper to keep mizzen tie at place, and prevent it to slipping off the yard... need to consider that mizzen yard all the time fitted to the angle to deck and sometimes need to be moved from side to side around mizzen mast depend on sail working position... so, the next question, where to fit them if this clamps should be fitted? how many? one only evidence of such cleats I saw on modern reconstruction of swedish votive model , but can't find good foto of this element on ship replica of the period, such as Duyfken, Half Moon...
Good day, Dear friends, have some small progress in mizzen mast rigging... managed mizzen tie,but without sail for a moment, will do it later on, and installed mast tackles...

Hi Kirill I am not really an expert, but would guess a cleat. It is easy to install and handling of the spar becomes much more safer. I would guess that this was also known by the old craftmen.

Good day Willi, Thank You, Should it be Smthng like this areangements?... I found this picture(mizzen yard, pctr No 4 ) in the book about Prince William...there is cleats,as I could see...unfortunately ,I can't read comments to this picture...what is it about...?
and one more variant... those stoppers on mizzen ,top mizzen and bonaventure yards,as on votive model replica...
Hi Kirill I would prefer the version of the votiv model. This is what I meant as I wrote from cleats, and the votiv model looks like it is closer to the time of your model than the Prins Willem. By the way, there is no need to translate the text, because the No. 4 of the text has nothing to do with the picture No. 4 (text explains the hooks form picture No. 3- very confusing all this)

Good day Willi, Thanks, frankly speaking, I was thinking in the same direction, abt " cleats", as You suggested... good, :))) !!! than I will use this version, from votive model replica... :)))
